Many Times A Great Food Packaging Illustration Is A Deciding Factor

Many Times A Great Food Packaging Illustration Is A Deciding Factor

by Marcia Marks

Every brand or product needs a logo. From examples such as the tick on a pair of Nike trainers to food packaging illustration, these small and simple designs carry a great amount of meaning to both the discerning and undiscerning eye. But choosing such a logo or design is difficult and is often beyond the ability of many business minded company or brand owners.

How do you make your brand stand out from the rest then? Well there are several useful tips to keep in mind when it comes to designing the right image for your brand. This is of course not an exhaustive list and coming up with your own ideas to add to it will go a long way towards helping you in the future.

Firstly, always remember that color is vitally important when designing any logo. Color is not a random choice and when used in certain order or conjunctions conveys a number of certain ideas. Bright colors grab the eye and pull the viewer in whilst drab and grey color pallets will likely be glazed over by the viewer in favor of another product.

Secondly, avoid cliche, when designing a brand logo. There are number of recurring themes and ideas towards logo design that have gotten long in the tooth and continue to crop up again and again as lazy designers fall back on old and overdone methods of design. Always keep it fresh and differentiate yourself from the crowd.

The third step in the process is to brief the designer in detail. Such aspects to cover are: what does your company do, what do you want the logo to say about your company, do you want it to be an image or a typographical logo, who is your target market, how are you different from your competitors and do you have a tag line that needs to be included with the logo. Once the designer is prepped on all these ideas they will be able to start work as soon as possible and will be more prepped to bring out a design that satisfies.

Shelf impact is another idea to take into consideration. What will the packages look like when they are placed side-by-side in large numbers? How will they fit together or stack-up? Streamlined or inventive ideas in this regard will pull customers to your section of the store and will ensure success as more and more of your items fly off the shelves.

Always remember to give feedback to your designer during this process. Letting them know exactly what you feel about each design will go a long way towards helping them develop a design that is more to your liking. Look at the design process as a journey rather than a destination.

So never forget these important tips when it comes time for you to design a logo or food packaging illustration. A bright and enticing logo is necessary to develop brand awareness and informs customers about the ideals behind your company and or brand. Instilling these thoughts in the minds of your customers will develop loyalty from them and keep them returning to your brand again and again. Adhering to this will satisfy both you and your customers and make sure that everyone wins.
