Start to learn about Natural Moisturizers and Some Secret Ingredients

Start to learn about Natural Moisturizers and Some Secret Ingredients

by Irene McDonald

Moisturising the skin daily is must do routine and vital to the results of skin care. If you learn what to look for when buying moisturizers your skin will look better and you will save money as well.

Let's look at what the perfect moisturiser will contain.

- Oils to nourish, especially in winter when the skin doesn't produce as much oil. Dry conditions and windy weather make the situation much worse for the skin.
- Hydrators to hold moisture in the skin. In warm or hot weather the skin loses a great deal of moisture (water) so special ingredients called humectants help in keeping the skin well hydrated and plumped.
- Rejuvenating ingredients to help cut back wrinkles and lines. These come in the shape of peptides or Vitamins like Vitamin C, A and E.
- Essential fatty acids that mimic our own natural oils to increase skin health.

Dry skin requires a high oil content in the cream.

Combination skin has an oily t-zone which means the forehead, nose and chin are oily. This skin type requires little to no oil in the moisturiser used.

Greasy skin can work fine with special formulations that supply moisturizing in an oil free form which keep skin hydrated without oiliness.

The words "dehydrated skin" are used consistently particularly from sales helpers on cosmetic counters. All skin types can be dehydrated and this can be caused by different factors:

Dehydrated skin is low in moisture (water) - not oil. Frequently dehydration can be remedied simply by drinking more water. Each cup of coffee, tea or alcohol consumed will dry your skin. A glass of water is required to offset each cup you drink of these beverages.

Ingredients like Hyaluronic acid, lecithin or glycerin will increase the moisture content held in your skin and communicate a dewy plumped appearance to your skin. Hyaluronic Acid is the king of hydrators but frequently only found in Serums because of the high cost.

Natural oils including olive squalane and macadamia nut oil contain an oil profile awfully close to human skin. Jojoba has an identical split of necessary fatty acids although it is technically a wax and not an oil. Sweet almond and Apricot kernel oils are also advantageous to the skin. Skin health is greatly improved when these natural oils areutilized in Natural Moisturiser formulations.

Studies have shown Organic Aloe Vera can enhance the rate of regeneration of skin cells by many per cent when used in sufficient quantity. Penetration ability of Aloe Vera is fantastic.

Difficult skin often has redness present. The mineral MSM is perfect for keeping redness in order. MSM is organic sulphur (or sulfur) a wellness supplement originally developed for arthritis and joint pain. Sulfur is present in every cell of the body. When included in a moisturiser a simple solution to redness is accomplished.

Like so many products or ingredients, a side benefit emerged early in the life of MSM, and that's the smoothing of skin. When consumed as a powder supplement skin is softer on the whole body not only the face. It works from the inside out. Perhaps we should call it Super skin MSM.
