A Simply Human Trash Can
"I know you are not going to buy that trash can. For that price?" I smiled at my spouse with a minimal smile, "My mom has one that looks like this and she paid $80."
"You are not your mother!" I understood this aspect, no, I am not my mom. But, I liked her trash can. Can you believe it, I'm talking about a trash can? Yes. You see, this trash can is so awesome, if a trash can be awesome.
Actually we needed one. And, I used the thinking that all the appliances in my kitchen are black and I had a white trash can. So off to the store we went to buy this trash can. I am not sure what type trash can my mom purchased, but we purchased the Simple Human Trash Can for $49.99 from Bed, Bath & Beyond. It holds 50L and I use traditional size 13 gal. trash bags.
The trash can came with 5 trash bags and a 5 year warranty. My other trash can did not have a warranty nor did it come with trash bags. I did not know trash cans have warranties. Anyway, this trash can slowly closes on its own, and does not fall on your hand, my other one did not; it slammed a lot. The Simple Human trash can has an easy to use pet lock (which is outstanding, we have a cat). My other trash can did not have that either. The bottom is wide enough to be stable and not tip over. The lid does not slam into the wall when opened.
You step on the lever at the bottom of the can and the lid raises and then closes slowly. You can also lift the lid without using the foot lever and it will still close progressively on its own. When emptying the can, the bags slide right out without a challenge. One tip I use with this can is, before we put a new bag in the can, I flip an additional new bag on the back side of the can so changing the bag is quick.
This trash can has been a awesome buy for us. It works exactly as indicated. I had never noticed of this brand, not that I shop for trash cans regularly but, I am really pleased. I would recommend Simple Human Trash Cans. Bed, Bath and Beyond has several types of this trash can. They come in black, which is what we purchased, white and stainless-steel.
