The world has evolved, boys are the only ones left to play with cars anymore. Now little girls can grow with hopes of becoming women in racing. Back in the day, there were many laws against this, but today females team as Megan Meyer racing can now compete against men. Still, there are not many females who are in the sport. In the same light other young female drivers will look to your success as their inspiration.
Racers need to be sponsored in order to drive effectively. You need a team to carry you out into the next season. It is also about finding the right team to jell with you. You have to really drive well in order to get sponsors attention, seeing you out there doing well will get you the best stuff. Finding the right one is a lot of work though. You will be in tons of meetings and phone calls to secure your team.
Preparing for a competition is probably one of the most important things. You are not going to show up there and just drive, you need a plan, you also need to know about the track. So you will have someone on your team who gives you information, which you have to go through, study it so that you know what to expect out there. You can also get yourself a mental coach, someone to help you get in the right frame of mind.
The obstacle for every driver including female ones is retaining and attracting sponsorship. This is no different for ladies, you must do the work like everyone else. You must do marketing and do it well, you must also communicate well with your sponsors. You all need to be on the same page. This way you will have a long journey with your current sponsors.
In the time you prepare to be on the track, you set some goals for your driving. You always hope and pray things to go according to plan. However things don t always happen the way you hope they will. Those days are usually the hardest, you must learn to keep your head up. Have faith that at some point it will all work out.
There will be aspects of the profession that may bother you because of there so many males around. But it shouldn t stop you from aiming high and achieving the goals you set in the first place. Young girls need to see that they are other females doing it and they don t care how society feels about it.
