Being a manager is no easy thing to do. As the spiderman saying goes "with great power, comes great responsibility", wherein being a manager you should also be aware of what you should be doing. Some of those things which a manager should always do include overseeing his or her team or staff, tracking and making sure production hits quota, making sure everyone is doing their job well and many others. Likewise when it comes to people you trust, the manger is oftentimes on that list. If you can establish trust as well as good social skills then you cant be a manager. Therefore, how can you become a good manager? Should you be looking for ways to become an excellent manager then be sure to bear these simple tips in mind.

Boost your credibility Establishing your credibility at work is one effective way on how you can earn the trust of your colleagues. Trust is something that is very important at work and no one wants to work or be with someone who she or he doesn't trust. Being able to establish your credibility with your team or colleagues will allow for efficiency as well as smooth flow of operations at work. A good way to establish credibility within the workplace is simply by being helpful and approach others when they need you. With this, you can easily gain trust and respect from your colleagues.

Get in touch with your co-workers One rule you need to remember as a manager is always keep your people on top of your list. Provide them with the resources that they need and watch them grow better in their career. This will then lead them to become better employees thus giving your company better production rates as well as a more intimate connection among colleagues. Prior to being a people person, you also need to learn how to listen to your staff as this will help you gauge their needs and what must be done on your part. In line with productivity, you may also want to motivate them through incentives or simply by words.

Always acknowledge a good deed and effort For every positive thing that is done by your employees or colleagues, always be sure to acknowledge their efforts. This will motivate as well as inspire them to repeat the good things theyve done for the company. Those who have tried pursuing a project or task but failed in the end also deserve acknowledgement for their efforts and for trying. Doing so will increase your closeness with your colleagues thus making them more comfortable with discussing things with you.

Be a good example What simpler way to show your colleagues that you are a great manager by showing them a good example. Being a manager involves mostly supervising your team however there are also other tasks which you as a manager should do. You can lead a good example to your colleagues by simply being great at what you do. Always aim to be productive, to motivate as well as to inspire. Become a person who wants success and they will do the same.
