Becoming Loved By All Restaurants

Becoming Loved By All Restaurants

by Estelle Larsen

There are two kinds of diners in the world. The first are those people who are considered VIPs, and the second consists of just everyone else. But you do not have to be a celebrity, a chef, or even a food blogger to get the special treatment so often bestowed upon the rich and the famous when they find themselves in the restaurants you eat in.

Plenty has been said that bribing the employees can work and they do if done discreetly and as an expression of gratitude, but in truth, the main ingredient is in doing unto others. Putting yourself in the shoes of the server in an upscale bar like those restaurants in downtown McKinney and asking how will you be motivated to tirelessly and excellently cater to a diner will certainly give you clues as how to do it. Of course, do not ever show that you are doing this as a means for power over industry servicemen but because you genuinely are friendly and civilized with the staff.

Warming up to the personnel begets being warmly welcomed. Flawless conduct and a gregarious air will emboss a fine impact, especially if getting positively noticed and remembered by the staff are your goals here. Talk to them while waiting for your order or ask the maitre d to be seated next to him and so forth.

Do not be afraid to engage in conversations with the servers while you are browsing the menu or waiting in line for your reservation. Ask the cook, if you can, what specific dishes on the menu he would recommend, or better yet, ask what no one orders but is worth a try. The hearts of the chefs are best warmed when they see that their creations have piqued your interest, and builds your relationship with them.

Drinking like an liqueur connoisseur will also get their attention. Special guests do drink a lot, and because booze has the highest profit margin among all other items in the menu, it gives the restaurant enough to make them toss in a complimentary cocktail. You can start with an aperitif, and if they like you and see your interest in their beverages, they might send out a free taste.

Generous orders are also a superb way of making them admire you as a customer. Go with full courses and they are most likely to send you desserts for free. If you are talented with eating the special or what the chef would like you to try, you could benefit from a free taste of another dish.

Play safe by not demanding modifications with your food. Should you find dishes that contain something that you have dietary issues with, do not order it because they are prepared the way they are for good reason. If you cannot help it, ask them very politely.

Should there be any complaints or dissatisfaction, it is good to resolve it by being polite instead of acting like a kid on a tantrum. You do not want the people who create what goes into your mouth to get mad at you. Being able to maintain your bearing and composure will help them focus in resolving the problem right away instead of making it into a war of insults.

A thank you letter after dining and a sincere statement that you thoroughly enjoyed their meal and service will more likely increase your status with the restaurant. It lets them know that you have enjoyed what they have prepared for you, and will inspire them to spoil you with better grub. Your next return will surely be anticipated.
