Tips For Growing Paulownia Elongata And Similar Tree Species

There are lots of fast growing trees such as Paulownia elongata native in Asia. While they might be native in Asia, there are also those which have been naturalized in the southern areas of the United States. Farmers do their best to raise these trees since they can yield marketable and lightweight wood suitable manufacturing.

With the said trees, it is fine to plant them even in the yard just as long as the entire lot is a big one. The trees grow big so a big yard is necessary for it too. The said trees will product flowers in lavender color and big leaves. It should be a good addition to any landscapes. Make sure to apply the right maintenance method for it.

When it comes to raising this tree, it is only appropriate to keep the overhead wires in mind. This is because most of the trees will grow for as tall as thirty meters or more. When the overhead wires make contact with the trees, it will be dangerous for everyone. It is not a good idea to think of the overhead wires.

The size of the trees' root balls should also be taken into consideration. It will be good to know this since this size will determine just how deep the hole should be. More than that, this also has an effect on the diameter of the hole. Try to soak the tree to be planted in water for the entire night. The next day, loosen it up and separate the roots.

The tree should then be placed inside the hole. Do not forget to fan the roots out. Dirt should then be shoveled back into this hole. Tamp down after every layer up until the said hole is already full. It will be for the best to add a layer of mulch right around the base to keep the moisture and suppress weeds. Sunlight should also be considered.

Routinely check what the soil's state is like during the initial season for growing. If the top inches of the soil is practically dry, do not hesitate to water it. When the initial season passes, the person can then lay back on watering. It is fine to water it only when the weather is hot or dry.

Know more about coppicing. This is the process where the trees are cut down so that it can be utilized for lumber or for woodworking. The tree will be cut off at the ground level, especially when it is already at least one year old. The new shoot will sprout out of this stump and will form a new tree.

Since there are buds, they will surely grow as much as the parent tree. For the buds, it is only appropriate to prune it regularly. With this, it should be easy for the person to keep the growth of the branches in check. Problems can be taken care of immediately when the person pays attention to the buds as early as possible.

Other methods are actually still available for those who are growing trees similar to the Paulownia elongata. It should be easy to raise these trees when the person has enough knowledge about it. When the trees grow, it should be easy to find a place where they an be sold.
