Reading, doing small craft projects or even a tiny bit shopping online for babies can help you shut down your brain. In pregnancy you may feel like your mind is racing with all you need to do and think about. By giving yourself a chance to shut it off you can help prepare yourself for sleep.

5. Get up.

When all else fails, you should not lay in your mattress. Get up, do a little something. Establish a closing time of thirty or 60 minutes that you will remain in bed attempting to fall asleep. Battling it could be discouraging. And occasionally you are able to be quite productive during the middle of the night. Some believe that this assists you get ready to the sleepless nights that are a part of parenting in advance.
