How To Maintain A Germ Free House

How To Maintain A Germ Free House

by Edward Bailey

Everyone thinks that the home is the cleanest and safest place until you swipe on a surface and put it on microscope. There are a lot of germs that will keep you constantly ill and on medication. Though it is impossible to eliminate germs from the house, it is possible to reduce their numbers to a point that you have a healthy home. Here are tips on how to maintain a germ free home.

Develop a routine to help you clean the entire house on regular basis. The common way of cleaning is to wipe areas that are used often and those that people can see. This leaves a lot of the areas dirty or with a toxic accumulation of pathogens. The dirty places will return germs to areas that have not been cleaned. A routine ensures that all areas are fully covered at least once a week or month.

Keep your house dry at all times. A moist environment provides the best thriving place or factory for germs. Water also means that the germs can stick on a surface and be easily transferred to other areas. If all the rooms are left dry, the germs do not have a breeding ground. Keep your windows open to ensure free circulation of air and avoid accumulation of pathogens. Ensure that the room is well lit so that germs do not accumulate.

Proper ventilation will kill most germs and pathogens. Germs hide in places where there is not light and are stuffy. Disturb this environment by ensuring free flow of air. This air also comes with heat that dries all the moisture that allows these germs to thrive. However, you should only allow circulation when it is not too dump. Using a heater will also perform magic.

Disinfect the duster, spongers and other wiping materials used around the house. These materials are commonly used to clean dirty areas. They remain with a lot of pathogens that can be spread to other areas. Disinfecting eliminates the perfect environment that germs require to thrive. When the duster is used again, it only serves to spread pathogens to other parts of your house.

Clean the bathroom and keep it dry at all times. Activities that take place in the bathroom make it a place vulnerable to dirt. Pathogens will easily thrive here. The place should be cleaned and disinfected regularly to reduce accumulation of disease causing pathogens. Ensure free circulation of air in the bathroom as well. Lighting should also be enhanced since some pathogens will be eliminated by natural lighting. If the place is not cleaned, people using the room will collect pathogens and spread them to other areas.

Clean your bedding regularly. Body secretions like sweat provide the perfect environment for pathogens to grow. If they are left on the bed for too long, they increase germ concentration. This means that you are more prone to diseases. Keep a dustbin in the room and empty it on regular basis.

Personal hygiene is as important as keeping a clean environment. Clean your toothbrush after use and take a shower regularly. Wash your hands after engaging in dirty or ordinary activities. Diseases will begin from you and spread to surfaces around you.
