Features Of A Carpet Shampoo

Features Of A Carpet Shampoo

by Michelle Campbell

Knowing what you need in a cleaning soap is very important to help you make the right choice for your cleaning needs. Every fabric contains dirt that needs to be dislocated for it to become clean and it is only a good soap that will be able to provide that effect. Consider good criteria for soap selection. View their components first before you purchase them to make sure that what you select is what you intended. Below are characteristics of a carpet shampoo.

Easy to form leather. For the cleaning to have optimal results, the liquid soap that one is using need to possess the ability to foam. This ability creates the ease of cleaning and dirt dislocation. They contain foam boasters which are special elements that not only increase foam but also increase the size of the bubble. This bubble contains the micelle which contains the dirt from the fabric. Therefore, the larger the bubble, the larger the size of a micelle and the larger the amount of dirt embedded hence cleaning faster.

Soften water. It should have the ability to soften hard water to facilitate cleaning action. Hard water cannot provide for cleaning effects because it forms insoluble substances in water which are hard to dissolve hence making the process hard. These scum also form on the surface of fabric hence dirtying it and damaging its texture. A good cleaning soap should be able to break the surface tension of water hence softening it.

Cleansing power. There are surfactants present in the soap that increase the cleaning action of soaps. They have two components where one is water based, and the other is oil based. All the dirt in fabric surfaces is oil based. The two parts of a surfactant, the oily part binds with the oily dirt which helps to dislocate it from the fabric hence forming a bubble. This bubble contains a dirt center and water-based outside which binds with the water hence washed away. This brings about cleansing ability.

Thickness. Thickness improves the dilution power so that a small amount of it is enough for cleaning. This thickness is improved by the addition of some compounds such as sodium hydroxide. Such compounds not only increase the thickness but also increases the viscosity of liquid soap.

Conditioning agents. The process exposes a carpet to materials that offset the texture and the feel of fabric. Shampoo contain materials that offset the sometimes harsh effects of surfactants. These surfactants reduce the static charge on the fabric by deposition of compounds such as silicon on the surface of fabric. This process brings about conditioning effects that preserve the softness and the texture of a fabric.

Preservation ability. They also contain compounds that preserve them for long. When these soaps stay for long, they tend to expire. This is because they are made of water and other inorganic compounds that promote the growth of bacteria hence causing expiration.

Fragrance. They also contain fragrance emitting elements that kill the smell of dirt in them. These help condition the atmosphere of the house. It also promotes the preservation of the clean effect that they obtain through the process of cleaning.
